leisure time at home with her family.
Grammar
The basics of English grammar are taught as a foundation for
articulate communication in both speaking and writing.
Grammar School I Literature and Composition
Fables, folktales, and mythology from various world cultures
explored in Grammar School I World History class form the basis of the
literature component of this class. A variety of sentence structures
and ways to "dress up" paragraphs are explored in composition.
Grammar School II Literature and Composition
Greek mythology and Homer's timeless classics The Iliad and
The Odyssey are the primary sources of literature in this course.
Continued practice on writing techniques will lead toward the
beginnings of essay writing by the end of the year. MLA style is
introduced.
Grammar School III Literature and Composition
The literature in this class centers on Roman
mythology, Virgil's The Aeneid, and Shakespeare's
Julius Caesar. The
five-paragraph essay is emphasized in composition. Basic library
research skills and MLA formatting are taught this year.
