Midwinter Week Feed the Masses Project
Dear Northfield Friends and Families,
The time has come again for Midwinter Week, and this year we are going to continue the tradition of comfort food. This year the theme is starch, and we will have a different starch “star” each day. One day will be potato day, one day rice day, one day pasta day, and one day will be pizza day. The food committee hopes you and your children get a chance to sample several old favorites as well as some new recipes. I would like to personally thank all the parents and friends of Northfield that make this possible, because it seems like we are trying to feed an army. According to Jon Larson, we are feeding an army.
This endeavor requires a lot of supplies, and we try to make it so there is no direct cost to the students. Based on this, I am asking for your help in making the food for this week possible. As always we will accept monetary donations or food items (click on one of the links below to open or download the shopping list; this list will be updated regularly, so please check back often).
Please talk to Mr. Burchfield in person, e-mail him at davideburchfield@msn.com, or call him at (316) 744-3310 if you can help and with what items you would like to donate. Do not purchase anything until consulting with Mr. Burchfield to prevent duplication of items.
Also, any ideas will be appreciated, and we always have plenty of work if you would like to volunteer your time. Thank you for making this project possible.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Burchfield. If you would like to donate only a percentage of an item, that is welcome as well. I have found some items in the past that are quite inexpensive at Sam’s in the past. I have marked these with an *.
