Grant Takes Vicksburg—June 23-29, 2011

Please join us on our second Adventures in History trip as we follow Ulysses S. Grant’s army south to Vicksburg, the key to the west.

Schedule
June 23—Day one: We travel to near Memphis
June 24—Day two: We tour Shiloh battlefield
June 25—Day three: We follow Grant’s army to Jackson and Vicksburg
June 26—Day four: We tour Vicksburg Battlefield
June 27—Day five: We tour Natchez, MS
June 28—Day six: In the morning, we tour Oak Alley, one of the best examples of a plantation home on the Mississippi River. We head north that afternoon, spending the night in or near Ft. Smith, AR
June 29—Day seven: Arrive in Wichita

More details to follow, including cost. We are traveling by Prestige Bus Lines. Your meals and lodging and entry into all sites will be covered in the price. Tour is led by Ken Spurgeon with additional talks along the way from NPS guides.
