Visual Arts
Visual arts at Northfield include not only painting, drawing and
photography, but almost anything that involves beauty and
craftsmanship. Our students create art in diverse forms of expression;
they draw and paint and shoot photos, but they also quilt, build
furniture, paint murals, throw pots—and sew costumes, paint faces, and
create backdrops for plays and performances. The artistic works of our
students help to generate the warm, distinctive atmosphere that is
Northfield School of the Liberal Arts.
Adrienne Harmon

Adrienne Harmon leads our visual arts faculty. She also teaches
non-math chemistry as well as math and grammar tutorials.
“The purpose of art is not to strand us
in an alternate world, but to return us to the realm of the ordinary,
only with new eyes.”
